Vilket m\u00f6jligen \u00e4ven kommer att p\u00e5verka planerna att bygga en reaktor av samma typ i <a href=\"http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/worldnews\/europe\/france\/11546271\/New-UK-nuclear-plants-under-threat-as-serious-anomaly-with-model-found-in-France.html\">Hinkley Point C<\/a> i Storbritannien.<br \/>\n<a href=\"wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/20150515-Olkiluoto-4-Cancelled.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/20150515-Olkiluoto-4-Cancelled.jpg\" alt=\"20150515-Olkiluoto-4-Cancelled\" width=\"560\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3125\" srcset=\"https:\/\/holmon.info\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/20150515-Olkiluoto-4-Cancelled.jpg 706w, https:\/\/holmon.info\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/20150515-Olkiluoto-4-Cancelled-237x300.jpg 237w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 706px) 100vw, 706px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nDetta \u00e4r ocks\u00e5 samma reaktortyp som Vattenfall en tid funderade p\u00e5 &#8211; n\u00e4r ny k\u00e4rnkraft fortfarande var aktuellt &#8211; men skrinlade efter de d\u00e5liga erfarenheterna fr\u00e5n bygget av Olkiluoto 3 i Finland.<br \/>\nBygget av EPR i Flamanville i Frankrike karakt\u00e4riseras s\u00e5 h\u00e4r i tidningen <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-2477202\/Deaths-chilling-safety-lapses-lawsuits-huge-cost-runs-delays-Why-trust-French-Britains-nuclear-future.html\">Daily Mail<\/a>:<br \/>\n<em>In reality, the history of the Normandy project is one beset by financial mismanagement with rocketing costs, the deaths of workers, an appalling inability to meet construction deadlines, industrial chaos, and huge environmental concerns.<\/em><br \/>\n<strong>Gen IV<\/strong><br \/>\nSomliga sj\u00e4lvutn\u00e4mnda experter griper nu efter halmstr\u00e5n och menar att Gen IV k\u00e4rnreaktorer som utnyttjar br\u00e4nslet b\u00e4ttre \u00e4r ett alternativ redan i nutid. Organisationen <a href=\"http:\/\/www.irsn.fr\/EN\/newsroom\/News\/Pages\/20150427_Generation-IV-nuclear-energy-systems-safety-potential-overview.aspx\">Institute for Radiological Protection and Nuclear Safety (IRSN)<\/a> har nyligen presenterat en genomg\u00e5ng av p\u00e5g\u00e5ende Gen IV projekt och skriver s\u00e5 h\u00e4r om den konstruktion som enligt dem ligger n\u00e4rmast att realiseras med en <em><strong>prototyp<\/strong><\/em> under f\u00f6rsta halvan av 2000-talet:<br \/>\n<em>On the basis of its examination, IRSN considers the SFR system to be the only one of the various nuclear systems considered by GIF to have reached a degree of maturity compatible with the construction of a Generation IV reactor prototype during the first half of the 21st century; such a realization, however, requires the completion of studies and technological developments mostly already identified.<br \/>\nThe main advantage of SFR technology in terms of safety is the use of low-pressure liquid coolant. The normal operating temperature of this coolant is significantly lower than its boiling point (margin of about 300\u00b0C), allowing a grace period of several hours during loss-of-cooling events. The advantage gained from the high boiling point of sodium, however, must be weighed against the fact that the <strong>structural integrity of the reactor cannot be guaranteed<\/strong> near this temperature.<br \/>\nThe use of sodium also comes with a number of drawbacks due to its <strong>high reactivity with water and air<\/strong>. While it seems possible for SFR technology to guarantee a safety level at least equivalent to that targeted generation III pressurised-water reactors, IRSN is unable to determine whether it could significantly exceed this level. The nuclear system associated with the SFR has been the focus of considerable R&#038;D, both in France and abroad, including the ASTRID reactor project, which should enable safety improvements.<\/em><br \/>\nMan pekar bland annat p\u00e5 problemet med att anv\u00e4nda flytande Natrium som reagerar kraftigt med vatten (vi minns v\u00e4l alla kemilektionen d\u00e4r en bit natrium sl\u00e4pptes ner i vatten &#8230;) vilket inneb\u00e4r stora risker. Detta var bara ett av problemen med den franska breederreaktorn <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Superph%C3%A9nix\">Superph\u00e9nix<\/a> som till slut fick st\u00e4ngas 1998. Reaktorn inneh\u00f6ll 5.500.000 kg Natrium.<br \/>\nTill detta kommer att en anl\u00e4ggning f\u00f6r anrikning av br\u00e4nsle (plutonium) m\u00e5ste byggas innan en kommersiell reaktor m\u00f6jligen kan tas i drift i slutet av detta \u00e5rhundrade (!):<br \/>\n<em>Furthermore, the scenario in which PWRs would be phased out and replaced by SFRs by <strong>the end of the century<\/strong> is plausible given the ready supply of <strong>plutonium<\/strong> in the initial stages of the deployment scenario and the use of a closed nuclear fuel cycle with proven oxide fuel. Before this scenario can be rolled out, however, further progress must be made in research and technological development in areas that are, for the most part, already identified.<\/em><br \/>\n\u00c4ven <a href=\"http:\/\/corporate.vattenfall.se\/om-energi\/el-och-varmeproduktion\/karnkraft\/karnkraft-i-framtiden\/\">Vattenfalls uppfattning om Gen IV<\/a> \u00e4r att denna teknik ligger flera decennier fram i tiden.<br \/>\n___________________<br \/>\n<strong>K\u00e4rnkraft \u00e4r b\u00e5de dyrt och os\u00e4kert. Fast det \u00e4r ju ingen nyhet. Men Sverige beh\u00f6ver ny elproduktion n\u00e4r de \u00e4ldsta reaktorerna l\u00e4ggs ner inom kort.
